Honoring Staten Island’s Unsung Heroes — Celebrating 20 Years of Impact:
For two decades, Nonprofit Staten Island has been the backbone of our borough’s nonprofit sector — strengthening organizations, elevating leadership, and advocating for the people who serve our communities every day.
The Community Service Awards Breakfast is our signature annual celebration, honoring frontline staff, volunteers, and community champions whose dedication often goes unseen. These individuals represent the heart of Staten Island — working across education, healthcare, social services, arts and culture, environmental advocacy, and community development.
As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, this year’s event is both a milestone and a moment to invest in the future of Staten Island’s nonprofit community.
Why This Event Matters
Each year, nonprofit organizations across Staten Island nominate outstanding individuals who go above and beyond in service to others. In 2025:
- 23 honorees were recognized
- 275+ nonprofit leaders, staff, board members, and community partners attended
- Organizations ranged from large institutions to grassroots nonprofits
This event brings together the people who power Staten Island’s nonprofit ecosystem — creating space to celebrate, connect, and strengthen our collective impact.
Triple Your Impact in 2026
In honor of our 20th anniversary, support for the Community Service Awards may be tripled thanks to the Staten Island Foundation’s Diamond Matching Grant Program.
Your participation — whether through ticket purchases or sponsorship — directly supports Nonprofit Staten Island’s work with over 150 nonprofit organizations, providing:
Sector advocacy and a collective voice for nonprofits borough-wide
Training and capacity-building programs

This event is designed for nonprofit organizations to nominate and celebrate one outstanding staff member or volunteer who goes above and beyond in service to the Staten Island community.
