Climate Resilience Ambassadors play a critical role in advancing climate justice and resilience efforts on Staten Island. As an advising committee to NPSI’s Community Climate Corps, Ambassadors engage across the borough to support environmental and climate education, mitigation, and preparedness. Our team at NPSI recognizes and appreciates the many commitments community leaders take on, and are grateful for those dedicating some of their time and effort to advancing the work of the CCC.
PLEASE NOTE that Year 1 Ambassadors have already been selected and the application process is now closed. Recruitment for the Year 2 Ambassador cohort is expected to begin in January 2026. But the CCC is much bigger than this single opportunity, and we would love to stay connected and find other ways to collaborate.
There are many meaningful ways to get involved, including:
- Volunteer with CCC: Join us for upcoming community improvement projects this spring, participate in resource distribution events, or help with resident outreach and engagement efforts.
- Lead or Host a Session: If you are interested in facilitating a workshop or hosting a session for your network or constituents, we’d love to explore opportunities for collaboration.
- Tabling & Outreach: Represent your organization or cause by tabling at select CCC events or helping us circulate key climate resilience resources through your own networks.
- Support with Language Capacity: We especially welcome volunteers who can help expand our outreach to diverse language communities in Staten Island.
- Subcontracting Opportunities: Throughout the program period, we will have select subcontracting opportunities available for education and outreach activities. If you believe your expertise aligns, we’d be happy to discuss possibilities.
We encourage you to subscribe to our listserv to stay informed about upcoming programs, events, and engagement opportunities. If you’re interested in any of the above, or if you have other ideas for collaboration, please contact Program Manager Rob Grosso at rob@nonprofitstatenisland.org.
