- Staten Island nonprofits serve more than 2 million people annually.
- Over 10,000 people volunteer with Staten Island not-for-profit organizations each year.
- The borough’s nonprofit organizations employ more than 20,000 people, over 20% of all people working in the borough, making it the largest employment sector on Staten Island.
- Of organizations and businesses in the borough that employ more than 100 individuals, over 40 of them are nonprofit organizations.
- The sector is the leading supporter of local businesses including restaurants, and technical assistance providers (plumbers, electricians, IT, additional utilities, etc.).
