Congratulations to this year’s community leadership honorees!

As Staten Island continues to navigate an ever-evolving landscape of community needs, Nonprofit Staten Island (NPSI) proudly celebrated leaders whose work exemplifies the collaborative spirit and forward-thinking strategies shared throughout this yearโ€™s conference. While the day offered a dynamic platform for sharing ideas and building partnerships across the sector, a true highlight was the Awards Luncheon, where we honored three exceptional individuals for their contributions to advancing community voice, community building, and community response on Staten Island.

Cathy Del Priore, Executive Director of the GRACE Foundation, is honored with the Community Voice award for her relentless advocacy on behalf of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Since joining GRACE in 2017, Cathy has expanded the organizationโ€™s reach, bringing attention to underrepresented voices through innovative platforms like Autism Unscripted, Dan on the Street, and GRACE 10314. These projects amplify stories that foster greater community understanding and inclusivity. Her background in media and publicity, refined through her work at Madison Square Garden, has led GRACE to impressive visibility milestones, including ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. Cathyโ€™s efforts continue to break down barriers and open doors for meaningful engagement across Staten Island.

Diane Arneth, former Executive Director of CHASI, is recognized with the Community Building award for her lifelong commitment to health equity and social justice. Over her 32-year tenure, Diane transformed CHASI from the Staten Island AIDS Task Force into a community-based organization serving over a million residents. She has addressed critical issues such as food insecurity, poverty, and addiction, while forging partnerships that unite diverse stakeholders. Dianeโ€™s role in establishing the Staten Island Pride Center and Nonprofit Staten Island has been instrumental in shaping a connected and resilient community. Her legacy is one of lasting collaboration, lifting voices, and fostering shared purpose among Staten Islanders.
